The dullness makes for moody and atmospheric pictures, I love it!

Did you use long shutter speeds to achieve the misty look?

They turned out really well. I've tried the same thing a couple of times. But whenever I make the effort to go down the the beach, no waves! I swear, you'd think the Atlantic was a lake whenever I want to get a picture of waves. :( One of these days...
