This is my favourite of the Masai joining in the maypole dance with the locals from the Norfolk Show

Oh man thats good...you have a great eye for these social commentry shots. Although really good, I think it could have benefited from being a wider angled shot, to show the Masai in a competely foreign environment. Better than your Punk I think...cracker.

I think its a great shot
Sometimes you have to forget all about that 'how it could be better' stuff and just grab it.

Thing is, I couldn't get closer as it was in an area stood back from the action I have loads of wide shots with the 17-40 but they are not that pleasing to the eye, I cracked open my new 85 mm for these to try to crop a better composition.
This one above is my favourite, they two seem almost to be in a dance just together, I like the way they are compleetly isolated from the others, both in the air, connected via the may pole, different cultures, different ages, it is quite a dynamic shot to my eye.
Here are a couple of the wider angle shots

I stand corrected, now that I've seen the wider shot which is what I kind of envisaged...I prefer the the closer crop. Probably for the reasons you stated, but I'm not that in tune with myself to have figured it out on my own. :)
I just went back to 1. It's a cracker.

Thankyou
I need the encouragement:-)
It's long time since I did this kind of stuff and I've completely lost my confidence :( but it is very encouraging to be appreciated
My problem is that I no longer know what I'm good at, so I'll persevere and hope something comes out top
