i just got my membership kit for the free edition.

do they not include the pin or anything else anymore?

I didn't get it with the Gold either. Called them and they are on back order. If the websites shows you will get one with the free membership, eventually you will.

Canon Professional Services seems to mean different things in different countries.

Here in the UK, you can get it for free provided you can prove you have a reasonable amount of professional equipment. But you don't get much beyond a magazine, a few emails, and preferential treatment for equipment repairs.

Guys in the US have to prove more, pay more, and most probably get more in return.
