10D = D80?

Is the forthcoming 10D different than the rumored D80?
I thought I read the D80 has a higher resolution but similar sensor size unit.

The difference is simple;

10D is real, it has been announced, specs released, reviews written and orders can be placed.

The D80 is/was just a rumour, likewise the D40, D90 and D-just-about-anything-else you may have heard about in the last three months - nothing but speculation and wishlists that some people (eg a certain French website) have chosen to read as genuine facts.
