I practiced some production style shots last night. I just used some 50 cent poster board, a shoot through umbrella, reflector and a flsh on my hot shoe.
What do you guys think?

They are really well done!
I see that if you wanted to really nit-pik yourself on these, you could use a bounce card made specifically for the shadow areas that 'seem' to be too dark.
I may be wrong, I didn't take a reading, but they appear that way to me.
Of course, if you were going to do 'real' product shots, you'd clean the camera, (dust, etc.) and the scale too, but I know you know, but it'd be good practice, although it's not as much fun. :)
You have pretty good white balance, composition, (for the most part) and also very good shadows, I'd like to see the set-up if possible, it never hurts any of us to see what others use in these situations.
I think you did really good myself, very nicely done.
EDIT* I just thought of something else, when taking a shot of a camera, always have the lens cap on straight if you have it on, it makes it look more professional... :)

I'll take two. Visa may not get reimbursed but I'll be happy.
Nice shots, they have that "showoff" feeling you expect from a new equipment review. It shows the product well.

You must be RICH! :)
Really, thanks for the shots explaining how you did it, I'm sure it'll help someone that sewszs it and wants to do one like yours.
Surprisingly simple with really good results.
