Telephoto Lens

I am new to photography. I am considering buying a 2.5 telephoto lens made by Digital Optics to use on my A85 camera. Is this a good guality item ?

I'm not sure if that one is a good item. But I have the 2.4 one manufactured by Canon and I love it. I would reccommend that one, but at the same time I'm not telling you that one is bad. I've heard nothing about that one, good or bad. I think the idea of having a teleconverter is good. I find it very useful.

I was sold a Digital Optics lens for my S1. (online purchase from disreputable company) Big mistake. Got an error 18 message more times than not when using it - the teleconverter barrel wasn't long enough to accomodate the zoom of the camera, and the front of the zoom would bang into the teleconverter when used. I finally gave in and went with the Canon product. Don't know if you would have the same trouble with the A85, but I'd sure be tempted to try it out before buying, if possible.
