Folks,
This is a ongoing problem for my set up. My first my Off Camera Shoe Cord 2 became unusable with my 550EX when turned on its side as the weight of the flash pulls the connection to the point that the flash doesn't work unless you push it is while shooting. The cord connection got so bad that while in the CA mtns I used the D30 flash shoe instead of using my Kirk Flash Bracket and cord. Now the D30 needs duct tape to work the flash when turned on its side. Ok now the D30 is my back up camera and I have a D60 and fairly new replacement Off Camera Shoe Cord 2. The new cable is having the same problems the other one got after 2-3 years use. I have taken both cables apart and can not figure out how to fix them. There appears to be 4 screws to tighen the connection but I can only access the bottom of the screw in the grounding plate.
Any suggestions to repairing or a better product than the Canon cord?? I figure if I use the flash mounted on the camera shoe I'll have the D6 having the same problems the D30 is having.
