Hi guys, I am new here so not sure if I am in the right area but.....
I just got my first digital SLR (Canon Digital Rebel) I have been doing B&W with Canon Rebels since 1992. My old lenses are working great with the digital rebel but I would like to get them cleaned a bit, as well as my old 35mm rebel. Any suggestions? I am in the Bronx so Westchester or Manhattan work great.
Thanks
Kris:)

You just want to clean the lens surface? Go to a local camera store and buy a lens cleaning kit, that will give you the tools to do the job yourself :) Look for a kit with a good quality lens tissue, lens fluid, and a cloth. Also consider getting a lens pen and a microfibre cloth.

If your lens has more than surface dust/grime, it's time to take it in to a pro shop for CLA (clean, lube, adjust). While many shops in NYC offer that service, IMHO, your best bet is to contact Canon directly and send it to the factory service center. From my experience, some shops will say they have Canon trained technicians but they don't guarantee that those technicians will work on your camera/lens (since CLA is pretty routine they may get a high school co-op to perform). Other shops have Canon trained technicians but they're trained to fix Canon printers & photocopiers, not necessarily cameras.

Canon service center info can be found here --> www.canontechsupport.com

THanks guys, dont think I have a surface issue, one is over 10 years old and the other a few years old.

Be sure to read the directions. Blow the dust off first (It's an abrasive!) Never put a drop of fluid on the lens. Put ONE drop on the tissue, then use that on the lens.
