I took this picture of my son this evening. I really love how the picture came out. Do you think I should crop it and remove more of the tree? I like how the shadow on his face looks, but I am not sure what make a good picture and how much is too much shadow. It was taken with my 300D with the kit lens.

I'm no pro but to me that picture looks really sharp for the kit lens. I never been able to take a picture that sharp with my kit lens.

I like it, yes I would crop out a little more of the tree so that you son takes up at least half of the picture, rather than the other way around.

Nice shot, I like the shadow and expression on your son's face.....agree that cropping the tree is a good idea.
