This poor sweetheart just lost her lifelong (15 years) buddy today to a raccoon. I'm not sure how distracting the grass really is, but this is still my favorite picture of her.

RIP (not the best pic, but the only one I have uploaded)

sorry to hear of your loss as well. It must have been a big Racoon, the cat did not look like a pushover. by the way, great shots.

Thank you for your kind words. I debated posting the first pic yesterday but since I forgot (and this happened today), I decided now would be a good time to post it. The cat pic is just a bonus (and maybe advice about playing with light).
As for the dog though, how distracting is the grass? Is it frameable?
Bald Eagle: He was a guard cat. He's fought off several large raccoons (he would protect the dog and their home) and won, but I guess everyone has to lose once... :(

wow, sounds like one very tough cat. As far as the first photo, i would crop out most of the grass, leave just enough so that you can see a little, maybe punch up the saturation a little bit, hope this helps.

I think the grass is ok except for the few taller blades , if you could PS them out then the grass would not be a problem.

raccoons attack cats:shock: Just shows how much I know about other peoples native animals. Is that common?

So sorry to hear about the lose of the cat. You have really captured the saddness in the dogs eyes, Maybe if you clone out that one tall blade of grass near her eye, other than that I don't think the grass is a problem, very moving photo when you know the story behind it. Even though the photo was taken before the tragic event.

Thanks for the comments (and kind words). I'll photoshop the blade of grass out and probably frame it as a gift. They've been together since they were 5 weeks old (for 15 years) so I'm now expecting the dog to go soon as well. Wherever they were, they were always together (the cat would even follow on the walks). She's had trouble walking for a while now, but the cat was something else. You would have NEVER guessed his age. He will be greatly missed.
Another picture I was debating framing is this one. Suggestions? Is it even wall worthy?

This was taken last weekend (the same day as the first pic of the dog). We were having a garage sale and he was protecting the property from other animals (mostly dogs). (RIP)
