I can no longer switch on my 300D, there's no power. I've charged 2 batteries and neither works in the camera. I've also tried them in the battery grip but no luck. I've tried changing lenses, still no luck.
Does anyone know what the problem could be?
I've been told that it may be something to do with switches on the CF card door and the battery door that do not allow the camera to be operated whilst the doors are open. Also could it be something to do wit the small battery that stores the date info?

It would be worthwhile trying a complete power-down. Remove the main battery and the little battery. Then put the batteries back.
There might be a bit of extra power storage for when you change the battery. That will be obvious because the date will still be correct after powering-up again. If that's the case, try leaving the little battery out for 10 minutes. Good luck!

How do I remove the little battery?

The manual might be quite helpful here...

Make sure the battery door is close completely. I had the same experience about 6 months ago and it turned out to be that the battery door was not completely latched. Once I pushed a little harder, it worked with no problems (other than operator error:D ).

I had a problem like Orogeny at a wedding, the card door was open, cause I use a hand grip...and it was dead, while holding the cam, not noticing the door was open a bit I had no idea what was up....Scary moment...

Did complete power down, checked battery door and CF card door. Still no power. Used a battery that works in another 300D but mine didn't. I've noticed that my batteries lost all power very quickly so perhaps there's some sort of short in the camera that's draining the battery?
