It seems that most people will say that photomatix is way better than photoshop for doing hdr photos, weather it be the artsy/cartoon type, or the crisp excepted by all type. My question is this, if you were a pro at photoshop, and knew the process that photomatix makes look easy could you create the same hdr image in photoshop as in photomatix. In other words does photomatix have something photoshop doesnt or is it just harder to do in photoshop.

I'm not sure you could get the exact same image with Photoshop HDR, it seems to be much more subtle, even when you're not doing an extreme HDR - check out this comparison: http://www.revellphotography.com/blog/2008/02/photoshop-vs-photomatix-pro/

Thanks for the links, I will have to study and practice, Ive used photomatix before but dont have it, i use photoshop alot and im just trying to figure out if i should buy photomatix or save for something esle, has anyone seen a hdr done in photoshop and then run thru topaz adjust, im currently thinking about picking that up.
