Good information about using non-Canon flashes with Canon PowerShots can be found on the Botzilla page:

http://www.botzilla.com/photo/G1strobe.html

I checked Metz's web site (Metz Adapter Page (http://www.metz.de/1_metz_2000/m_pages_english/main_index_e.php3?link=4&sub=6&linkname=mecablitz)) to see if they had an adapter to connect your flash to a PowerShot G2 (they haven't updated their site with G3 info yet) and they list an adapter for an 40 MZ-1i and 40 MZ-3i but nothing for an 40 MZ-2. Most Metz's don't seen to work in TTL mode on PowerShots including my 45CL-4 and 60CT-4 which connect to my G3 via an SCA 3102 M2 adapter.

Hope something in this helps,
BobbyLee

Thank you very much for your information.
In the adapter Metz page I've tried this combination, Flash 44 MZ2 ( the same type as 40 Mz2) with G2 (not G3) and is not 100% compatible.

Hi,

Can the flash works without using adapter? Such as A mode.
