I often see people referring to a lens that will back focus, or one that will front focus.
What do these two terms refer to? I've nary a clue...

In short, You focus on a subject but the lense focuses either in front or behind what you focused on.

We tend not to ever think that something literally means what it says anymore......everything seems like it should be more complicated in life these days doesn't it? lol

You mean it isn't???
Seriously, though, if I'm looking through my viewfinder, and get the shot in focus, aren't the optics in the lens providing this in-focus view? How then does it result in an incorrect focus for the sensor?
Man, it's just too damn early, and I'm only on my fourth cup of coffee. This is gonna' be a long day...
