Now that I've decided which lens to buy (Canon 70-200 f/4 L) it's time to decide where to buy it.

This lens is available locally however I've found that it's $100.00 cheaper on the Internet!

Two things are important to me when making a purchase on the internet: Return Policy and customer service. In regards to return policy there's always a chance that there may be a problem with the lens and I'd need a reasonable amount of time to test it.

Who can you recommend based on your personal experience?

Thanks - Wayne.

There is a member recommended vendor thread in the marketplace forum, if I remember correctly.

Hope that helps.

I bought mine from Amazon it had the $25 rebate from canon and if you apply for the amazon visa credit card the first time you use it and charge the lens on it. it will be and extra $30 off. I had the cash handy so I just paid the credit card in full and didn't have to worry about their high intrested rate but this is a good way to save and extra $30 if you can pay off the credit card quick or transfer to a lower intrest credit card.

www.17photo.com
www.normancamera.com

I have bought most of my lenses and a 1DMKII camera from these two outfits. I have made one return to 17photo, I asked Paul to give me a credit. I used the $500 credit about 45 days after the return and picked up the 1DMKII with no problems what so ever. I have spent thousands of dollars with both of these vendors, and personally shopped at Norman Camera. I cannot say enough good things about either one of these businesses. Very professional and no monkey business trying to sell you a Mack warranty or other such non-sense.

Search on www.shopping.com then check retailer out on www.resellerratings.com best way to go about it.

BH is often high. They wanted $700 for my Sigma 12-24 and I got it at www.digitalfotoclub.com for $550.

Don't look any further than B and H. They have been the leader for quite some time. Pricing is very close to the best you will find, but don't experiment on your first intenet purchase, particularily in this price range.
