Hi all, I am looking for a new camera bag and would greatly appreciate some advice.

I have the following gear to fit into the bag: an Asus netbook, Canon 500D, 10-22, 24-105 and 100-400. If possible I would also like to fit a Canon 15x50 binocular inside as well.

I currently have a Tamrac Aero 80 and it fits everything (save for the bino - haven't tried that yet) nicely. But it is a bit "fat" and fairly uncomfortable on the back. It also does not have a waist strap, which would have made it easier to carry.

I have narrowed my options down to the Kata 3N1-22, and was wondering if it would fit the gear I listed? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

The 100 - 400 will not fit. This bag rocks, but iw till not take the 70-200 F2.8L either. You may want to look at the Kata 3n1 33 for that.

I recently used the 22 for a vacation bag. It held personal items, my 11.6 inch netbook, my 7D gripped with 24-105L IS attached, a 17-55F2.8IS, a 580 EXII and a 50mm. I had chargers, filters, etc in there too.

To make a 70-200 size lens fit, you would need to remove the personal items storage area and try to reorder the configuration to make some vertical room. At that point, you ahve taken away one of the good features of the bag. Separate storage for camera, personal items, and a netbook.

for anything that cost over $100... you can find better made bags.

i like the ideas... the execution is not up to par imho.
yes, it will hold your gear... but then again... so does a $15 jansport bag...

my biggest complaint is construction quality.

and honestly, the shoulder strap system that converts from backpack to sling and whatever... nice idea but... straps are too thin and poorly made.

you can find better value for the equivalent value.
but otoh, there seems to be die hard kata 3n1 bag fans...

i'm not sure about the other kata bags, but my impression of the 3n1 was really poor and disappointing.
