Nice job with the Alamo. How'd you manage to be there when there were no people there?

I waited for ever.
There were waves of people coming and going. I stood there for 20 minutes.
Just as a group left I had time to take a few shots as another group was coming in
that are out of the shot. Had to do this for each angle. Seems like I was there for
2 hours.

Great images.
I specially like the last one, with all those colors and composition. Very pleasing.

I also think you did a great job with the Alamo. It looks like a perfect picture for a post card. I was also wondering how you took the picture without anyone in it. Everytime I go downtown and pass the Alamo there are people everywhere.

Did you get a night shot of the Alamo? It is really nice at night.

Thanks for the nice comments guys...

I wanted to get a night shot. But I gassed out and had a 4.5 hour drive waiting for me to go back to Dallas.

I was up at 5 am Saturday and drove down to Austin and we hiked and went swimming
in the heat all day. I went and photgraphed the bats leaving the bridge in Austin
and took night shots there until around 11:00.
Then we drove down to San Antonio and could not find a hotel vacant.
Drove back to Austin and found a cheapy hotel. This was at 3am.
Sleep until 9am and drove back down to San Antonio but went to Natural Bridge cave first.
Then we walked around all day there and I was just too tired to stay there until 9:30 - 10pm.
Didn't get back to Dallas until 3am since I stopped and took some star shots along the way.

I'll be going back soon and will get more night shots soon.

Here is one of the star shots I took on the way back.
15 seconds with the 20D set at 3200 iso @ f/2.8 Used the fisheye lens

Nice shots of the Alamo and riverwalk. It's a very photogenic city.
