This is a cake my wife made for her cousins wedding.

Not expert myself but was about to say the same. Need to try and bounce flash (not easy to do if you don't have an external flash)

I do however like the 2nd shot.

you can use direct flash. just be creative with it.

thanks for the tips. I was using a 430ex.
I think i did take a couple bounced, ill have another look.
The purpose of these pics were intentionally just for my wifes cake business.
Once we got into the church i noticed there was not "wedding photographer" just someone using a P&S snapping some pics. So i got up and took some pics during ceremony so these pics may actually end up going to the bride and groom.
