Maybe its a simple question but what is the best way to clean the lens? Using any chemicals? Or just with a dry dustfree towel or anything?
Thanks,
Jan

I use a small blower brush on the lens or sometimes a microfibre cleaning cloth on filters.

i always like to use a blower to get rid of simple dust, but for light smudges and what not, many companies make "lens cleaning cloths." i have the kodak ones, and they work great. they're disposable cloths, to just wipe off light smudges, fingerprints, etc..

I've had good experiences with a lens cleaning product called lenspen. Its great on fingerprint smudges and is small and compact to boot.

I just got a Lenspen because I'd been hearing good reports (such as the previous post). My own take is that they were all true - it is a great product, and portable enough to go in the camera bag. I recommend it too.

I've just seen the lenspen getting a slating on dpreview, now I'm not sure what to think. It seems to work for me.

Use a Lensmate and a 49mm UV filter. Then the lens will never get dirty in the first place.

OK puttick, so how do you clean your filter on your lensmate?

I used a wee drop of lens cleaning fluid and a lens paper to wipe off my lensmate filter...egads...I now have a streaky mess [which is what lead me to this thread]. I'm off to buy a pen.
