Do you use an iphone to browse ?

I was noticing a lot of galleries and websites now have mirror sites that are optimized for Iphones and mobile browsers. Just how many people browse the web while on these things? Specifically looking at, buying or shopping for a photographer was what I wondered.

I use my blackberry to browse the web all the time.

Which reminds me: I need to bitch to somebody about the menu bar at the top of the POTN forum pages. When I'm on a desktop it's fine but when using the blackberry there's a menu option to mark everything as having been read and it's right next to the "new posts" menu item. When using a finger for navigation it is easy to hit the wrong item, especially if the browser window suddenly moves or changes magnification, which happens often since the browser on these things is kinda slow. most often it is that the browser window finally zoomed in the way I asked it to (since the page looks so small on the phone) which manages to work out perfectly to place mark everythign as read under my finger when it was on the new posts item a moment before.

I know that none of that involves you directly, but it's an example of a site design that doesn't work well on the phone. If the order of menu items was different then it wouldn't be such an issue.

I've been using my phones to browse the internet for a while now. Last year I had a Nokia E71 and used that quite a bit but since the start of the year, I've had an iPhone and it's probably increased as a result. I've just started university so I've been using my iPhone for browsing when I'm on the train, although my carrier's often poor 3G reception in the simplest places causes me to just put it away and put up with being bored!

I semi browse portfolios. When I find an online gallery... weather it is off a business card, out of a magazine, talking to someone, or however, I will look at it on my phone quickly to see if it is worth my time to look farther when I get home.

I browse the web on my iPhone very frequently. Although I do not like to use the Mobile versions of the websites, they are often very stripped down. Mobile Safari does fine with the full versions.

I only use the internet to look specific stuff up on my phone. Very rarely for browsing purposes.
