July 4th Shots - First Attempt

This is my first attempt at shooting Fireworks and in Manual Mode, ISO 100, 2.5 sec F9...Canon 20D with 18-55 lens kit. I was able to secure a great location until the winds shifted. I also had to contend with a street light to my left that decided to turn on. All suggestions welcome.

Nice shots. Were you using a tripod? The images look soft, but the Kit lens should have worked fine with your setting. Maybe even a sweet spot for that lens. Regardless, it took me two evenings before I got it right. They are a little difficut to get right.
