So my buddy and I get a call from our recently engaged friends. They wanted us to take pics of them for their wedding website.

Just want some comments on what I should be prepared for when they us to do their Bridal party.

Shoots look ok but play with your PP a bit and see if something better comes of these

I was trying to get the "behind the scenes" look more.

Forgot to ask, what is PP?

To the rest, these images are barely edited if none.

Take that extra second to scan the frame, you've got trees and a horse's legs coming out of her head in two pics.

Post-processing (ie-Lightroom, Photoshop etc)

You got some nice shots, achieved that behind-the-scenes look. The colour/light does look a little dull, so that's something you can do in processing.

Here's a very quick edit of the last one:

By the way his sleeve was blown out, so i changed the exposure on it to bring back some detail. You could do it better if you still have the raw file.

Cool thanks.

Hopefully this will get better.

Is it better to shoot always in RAW? Because the last 4 shoots I have shot in RAW and so far I'm loving it in the PP.

Your white balance will change up if all the shots are going to be outside, so do a check with every change of location. Don't have them facing the sun, you will get squints and harsh lighting.
As mentioned, watch your back grounds.they make or break a photo. If you can get them to wear non reflective clothing( no whites or yellows).this will decrease the chances of blowing details.

Deathcakes edit, while giving more contrast, also made it bluish in hue. With his dark hair, keep his head from blending into any dark objects behind him.
They look like a fun couple, and I am sure you will have a blast! Good luck!

That is some good advice. I didn't know about the white or yellow's. That will be a pointer in every shoot for me now. Thanks!

So I have to change the white balance on every shot? I should stay away from keeping that on automatic?

Not every shot, but going into shadows, just do a check. Shoot RAW, this will enable you to do more in editing.

And I am assuming she will be wearing white at the Bridal session.lol.so you might want to step down the exposure a few stops, you can always bring it back up in processing( that is if shots are outside on a bright day)

Have you been to the location where you will be doing to shoot?

So it's better to shoot RAW on every photo shoot? It's more forgiving?

Yep. There is more chance of retrieving a photo that might have been lost in another setting.

I could definitely see these improving drastically with some PP. I would like to see them with a vintage look since that seems to match their style. I may be wrong though and I can't test it before I speak (no programs on this computer).

How do you acheive vintage? I've been wondering how too. :(

I am a lightroom preset user and I do small adjustments from there...not sure what you are using. If it's not lightroom maybe somebody else can help with that program.

Lightroom?

Is that some kind of editing program? Is it a cheaper equvilant of photoshop?
