Regarding the frame technique. It's a 12 step process that I picked up in Scott Kelby's Photoshop CS2 for Digital Photographers.
I would write down the steps, but honestly, I have to reference it for at least one of the steps each time I do a frame. Unfortunately, I don't have the book here at work. But fortunately, once you make one for each size, you can re-use it by dropping the new photo in as a layer. If you have an irregular crop, you'll have to either re-size the photo, as appropriate, or create a new frame to fit the image.
