:lol: Just got a new flasgun for my 300d its a speedlite 420ex. Tried it out today for first time today on my Mrs. Can you let me know what you think? I also have the hack on my camera would you have the automatic fill flash on or off? i have it disabled at the moment.

Can you bounce the light off something (white) to her left-front? Or maybe just lighten the pic a bit.
A little more DOF might help, too. Try going down 1 more f-stop at that distance.
Hint: If you shoot from farther away with a longer focal length, her nose will look proportionally smaller. ;-)
