Sorry if this is in the wrong section, couldn't quite figure out where it belongs.
It's part of a large collection of lawn art, all made from leftover motorcycle, lawn mower and other miscellaneous mechanical equipment.

Interesting...
I like the first one. The background looks great...almost gives a post-apocalyptic feel....or Terminator robots kinda thing. Maybe try to blur it out though, so the subject will snap.
Second one doesn't work for me. The bowl in the backgroung looks out of place and the angle is just a bit much. try getting on your knees and have the scorpion look more menacing by making it appear taller than the viewer. Give us a bug's view of it.

Thanks! I, too wasnt sure about the second one. I tried tilting the camera, to give it a slightly different angle, but I guess it still didnt work.
All of this was in someone's yard, in Asheville, NC. I had planned on talking to the creators of these things, but there was only one parking spot, and I guess the guy's wife came home as I was taking these shots.. She honked the horn and yelled for me to get out of her spot, which I promptly did.
Next time I go back, I'm going to park somewhere else and try and talk with the owner.
[edit:]
Here is my first attempt at blurring a background, and it turned out looking fake and... well just not good. Other than going back to the original location (4 hrs away) and reshooting with a different depth of field, is there an easier way to do this in photoshop? I attempted to select with lasso, blur background and then used the blur tool to go around outline. I still have some learning in PS to do..
