Camo 757
5th of July 2005 (Tue), 13:50
at lunch today.
First thoughts:
Very light
Not in love with the plastic
Good zoom action
Good size for a std zoom
I compared it with the Sigma 24-70mm 2.8 EX DG Macro side by side today. Without being scientific I compared them at the same apeture and focal point both at 70 and 28.
The Tamron was more neutral and noticebly sharper at both ends wide open. Mind you, I wanted the Sigma (loved the massive 82MM) and after printing the pics at the store we (sales guy, pro, and me) compared all four shots and the Tamron was ahead on all counts.
The Sigma was hot, just too red for my taste and fractionally less sharp at 70mm but more so at 28, which surpirsed me because I thought it would win at this end because it had room to go down to 24.
Anyway, will post pics soon.
