This is a picture I took in the winter with my PowerShot A70... a rinky dink 3 megapixel, obsolete camera.

I just sat my camera on the ledge and set it to 30 seconds and let it go. I really wasn't expecting much of a shot to be honest but I ended up with this...

Oh, and I'm just posting a link instead of the picture because it's semi large (1220 x 800) since I use it for my laptop wallpaper.

As you can see, there's some grainy spots (the mist) and what not... I really didn't know anything about ISO settings or anything. I just knew that I needed a longer shutter time to capture the lights in the dark.

Hope ya like it. :)

That's the first time I have ever seen a shot of Niagra Falls from that sort of distance. I always thought it was deep in the countryside, but there are city lights nearby. You have not only shown be a beautiful shot, but educated me too

Im going there in september (though, the US side) and we're staying just off the side of the falls.

Nice example, something I can aspire to.

Beautiful shot.

I highly recommend any that has been there in the spring, summer or fall do yourself a favor and go back in the middle of winter. It is a truely beautiful place when the mist is froze on everything with a fresh coating of snow.
