I got me new canon 50mm 1/4 today. I took this picture, right out of the box, didn't touch a setting and had an uncooprative subject. :) it is not the best picture, but I can't belive the difference a lense makes!! I can't wait to fool around with settings and light. I don't even thing the flash went off, this was just window light. I am a very, very happy new lens owner!

This is Daisy, she is a 5 month old Boston Terrier

I will try and take a test shot with the kit lens later in the same pose to compair.

Wow, I'm sure we're going to be seeing a lot more of Daisy. Cute pup.

Nice shot, I love that lens. Tough high contrast scene. He has a funky left eye.

great shot, awesome first take with that lens, the dog is cool too, love the look. His eye just adds to the photo.

Thank you, she is very fun to take pics of. One of the struggles I do have is like dkord said, she is the epitome of high contrast. In some of my favorite shots, her white is blown out. I am hoping this challange will help me get more comfortable with the settings. Any adivce?
