Hi!

I purchased a Canon PowerShot S45 yesterday and am very pleased with it.

I do not yet have a printer at home, but would like to begin printing out some of my photos.

Which is the best online or offline developer of digital photos? Kodak? Walgreens? Some other service I don't know about?

Please enlighten me!

(P.S. When I was shopping around for the camera, I tried out an Elph S200 at Ritz's, and the clerk printed out my photos in their 'user-friendly' [though soiled with customer's fingerprints and grime] printer. The photos of my mother and me that he printed out had a very strong yellow, warm bias, especially on our faces. He told me that was because of either the Tungsten lights in the store or the settings of the printer. I could correct this using software perhaps, he said. Anyway, this turned me off to the idea of sending my JPEGs to a store that would develop them well. With my PowerShot S45, I figure the 'pre-touch up' quality of the photos will be good enough. I'm just looking for a reliable printer to which I can email or share my CompactFlash card with in the store and receive great looking photos. Which service is best?)

Hey Jon-

The S200 is awsome.....I absolutely LOVE it! At any rate. There are many sites which allow you store your photos in one of their online albums, in which you can edit pictures (touch up) create album for sharing AND order prints directly through them. "Most" offer free prints just for joining. I've read in several photo mags. and online articles, stating that www.ofoto.com was the best for professional high quality prints. They also have photo album sharing and you can edit your images using some of the editing tools they offer. (E.g) Changing photo to watercolor. photoaccess is another that if you sign up, free prints again. I like Shutterfly.com. Nice online album to store and share my pics, photo editing is GREAT as well. Allows you to touch up, add boarers, etc, etc. You can than save the photo, they will still hold the original work of art and you can than order the print WITh all changes made. Including the boarder. Just got a set back. Look awsome! Here's my album at shutterfly. Perhaps this will give you an idea.

I haven't tried this yet (only have owned by A40 for 2 days!), but I found that WALMART has a very reasonably priced online photo service. You can have the pics shipped to your home (delivery charge applies..), or you can have them sent to your local walmart store-- for NO CHARGE except for the cost of the prints. Walmart seems to be a bit cheaper than ofoto.

Again- I have NOT tried this yet.
