Last week, I posted a collage of my 6 year-olds little league team and got some very helpful ideas and comments. So, I created a new version. The first picture is version 1 that I posted last week. The second picture is version 2 that I just finished. Compression really hurts version 2, but how did I do this time? Anything else I could have done?

Great Improvement! The only thing I might change/add is a color block for the text. YOu can download free fonts and get one that looks more like baseball lettering. http://www.1001freefonts.com/ has some cool ones. You can do a color block with the new lettering and then add some layer style to the block. Very nice!

I agree about the block for the "2005 Mustangs" at the top, but other than that, great improvement! It looks great, almost like it should be a calendar

A great idea and so much better than the first. I think it is something I may now try (but with soccer players) - that's REAL footballers to the uneducated ;) :)

What a huge difference! The second one looks great and seems to tell more of a story! Aren't collages fun?:) :) :)

Instead of a block of color behind the text, you could apply a stroke around the letters. That would make them easier to read by letting them stand out a bit more against that white background, and also avoid having a big ugly block of solid color there. Well, your block could be a pattern or gradient to spice it up. but I think a stroke is simple and works well.

The team color is red? Did you try red as a border color for the individual pictures? Maybe it would look bad, but keeping that team color theme going could be nice, too. Maybe red letters for the Mustangs 2005 text, too?

Great work. The second one is really good. How big will the prints be? I'm sure the kids will love them. :)

I really appreciate all of the comments and constructive help that I have received. I like the second version much better and I will experiment with a color block for the text before I make the final prints. I am also relieved that y'all like the second version because I am worried about how the other parents will like the picture. See, I was volunteered for this gig by my wife (& better half) after she and the other parents decided they did not like the paid photographer's work. I'm not a professional photographer. I'm just a dad taking pictures of his kids.

Big John: Collages are fun, but they can take alot of time, especially if you take alot of raw pictures.

MCB: I'm planning on printing 8X11.5's for the kids.

Looks nice. How about desaturating, lowering the contrast and/or blurring the background picture so the individual pictures "pop" a little more? Or how about adding one of each and every player (assuming they're not already there) with their names below the pictures?
