Ordered an inexpensive Nikon to Canon Lens adapter last night. Also ordered some step up rings so I can use my good filters on the 2 Canon lenses I do have (all my filters are 77mm).

So I will give the Nikon lens on Canon body a try when I get home. I have about another 10 days of work in Atlanta. Then I will go home for a month of vacation. Should be able to spend some time with the new camera.

do you preserve autofocus and auto aperature with the adaptor?

Neither will work. Have to use the lens in manual only.

I do this with my Olympus lenses on a 20D, and except for focusing, it works great. Good luck.

I use the Nikon adaptor and it works fine, allowing focus on infinity. If your adaptor is the same as mine then don't screw the lens to the adaptor too hard or you'll never get it off!

It does not have autofocus, but once you set the aperture on the lens, the camera will select the corresponding shutter speed (very similar to using 'Av' mode with your Canon EF lens.
