Hey guys,

So this is my first attempt and some decent night shots. Was few hours away from the nearest city so figured it would be a great chance to try it out.

Following the little guide A.S.I.G.N made i got some good results. Its 16 subs of 30 sec, so 8 minutes worth since i don't have a tracker. It was at 17mm (x1.6 crop) 2.8F and 1600 iso...

Next time i would probably try 15 sec intervals because i did notice larger ovals with most of the stars.

I tried taking a few 1 sec shots for the 'darks' but every time i try using them in DSS i just get an error and having a hard time finding tutorials that cover dealing with the blacks and flats and etc..

But anyways i stacked it all in DSS and then followed this guide..

to do some PP in PS to try and bring out the colors and all. This is where i think i did the worst

Not sure what my end goal is so kept fiddling with the levels till i got some real funky mass of bright red/orange cloud that filled up basically the whole frame. When he mentions that it takes however many itterations of curves. Does he mean just pressing multiple points and adjusting? or adjusting, pressing ok, then going back to curves and going again.

I tried to tame the bright cloudiness by lowering other things and after 4 hours of DSS and PS i decided to stop before i totally lost sight of what i was trying to get.

Im open to hear what you all have to say when you post proccess your stars to bring out the colors and the details you dont see when you just first open the file.
