I am new to the forum and new to pricing photography. I am need some help pricing for a family event. I have to travel to this event, so I would like advice on what to charge for the travel as well. I am thinking of charging by the hour for my time, plus travel. Is that a good idea? Also, the family would like a cd of all of the photos. I have read some posts regarding a per photo print/digital prices, but these photos will mainly be spur of the moment shots/not staged and those prices would be ridiculous for me to charge and would not get me the opportunity. Lastly, what does everyone consider low, medium, and high resolution when it comes to digital files? I may consider the cd with a lower than original resolution, so that if anyone wants prints they can actually buy them from me although I don't expect too many prints to be purchased because there is discussion of a slideshow of the event. Any help with this is truly appreciated. Thanks.:)
