Hi folks, new round here and just got a G3 for my 21st birthday!

Dad had got fed up of me 'borrowing' his G2!!

Anyway,

Is it possible to get a waterproof case for the G3 as I teach sailing and would like to get some photos of people in action but there is always the danger of going for a swim.

I have seen them for the S series but not for the G's.

The other alternative I thought of would be to get something like a lensmate and use a large water proof cases for VHF radios and phones etc.

Only problem I thought of would be how to get a smooth film over the end of the lens.

Any comments or ideas welcome.

Thanks

Andy

Andy,

Check out this site.

However, I must warn you that the case from Ikelite is a bit pricey and maybe more than what you really wanted, unless you want to go scuba diving. You can also get those heavy duty "plastic bags" for a couple of hundred that should suit your needs. I think I saw a posting regarding this same subject matter here sometime back.

Thanks for that, but it's a bit OTT.
I had a search through the archives but couldn't find anything, i'll have another look.

Any more suggestions would be welcome.

The discussion you're looking for was started by Penalty_Shot and the date time group is 02-14-2003 1:15pm (somewhere on the third page back). I'm also looking for an affordable ~$200 case like the ones Canon made for some of their cameras but haven't made for the G3.

Good luck,
BobbyLee

Check out this link. I've never used one but have seen some good words about this product on other sites. I checked out B & H and they have it available at a more reasonable price than some of the hard cases

Good luck

Those are the Ewa Marine bags we discussed in the earlier discussion which are fine if you stay in somewhat shallow water. If you take it too deep the pressure on the bag starts pushing your camera buttons and causes your camera to do things you don't want it to do. It wouldn't suit my needs but it might be good for Lakes14 sailing adventures. The link for this bag available at B&H is: B&H Ewa Marine Bag for the G3 (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bh2.sph/FrameWork.class?FNC=ProductActivator__Aproductlist _html___277488___EWDCG3___REG___CatID=0___SID=F3E8 85E2B30)
