Yes you read that right. I have been taking digital pictures for years. Started with Sony Mavica back in the day. I got my first dSLR in January but now decided I want to learn more about film.

I bought a Elan 7n which should be here friday and would like to start learning for when it gets here.

I know this is Canon DIGITAL Photography Forums so if there is a good Film Forum somewhere please someone post a link.

Just looking for a little direction on where to start.

P.S. Should get my 12-24mm lens next month which will be fun to play with.

Hmm ... take a look at www.photo.net or www.fredmiranda.com.

But they are not as nice as this forum

And ... when you try it out, keep in mind that there are only 36 exposures in one roll of film.

If I were you, I'd use my DSLR to try out a shot and see which combination of aperture and shutter speed works best and then take the shot with the film camera ... for starters.

Would give you a reference to compare your film and digital images.

Best regards,
Andy

Thanks Andy, that was my plan.

If there is anyone out there with a 7n, I would love to hear from you on you opinions.

I have the Elan 7 NE I bought last year and I love it it is a great film camera! Really not alot of handling difference between it and the 20D my 1st dslr.

I have thought of doing what you are talking of doing but since I've gotten free of film processing I dont wanna go back. :D

Good luck!
