First time posting. Looking for some CC. Image shot on a 7D, 85mm 1.8 lens, ISO400, 1 580EX II with self-made softbox. Lighting was also provided by a light post nearby location. Post processing in CS4. Let me know what you think! Thanks in advance.

This just makes me think of kids in monster truck tires.

I like it, good contrast between the rim and the shirt, well lit on the subject.

A different kind of shot. It has appeal. I can't help but wonder if a little bit of radial blurring would tell a different story.

Interesting.lol..
His skin has picked up the orange from the rim though?

Interesting idea which has been executed with finesse.

I think it picked up the light from a post that was on the left side. They tend to be yellowish sometimes. Should I correct the color more?

Thanks for cropping to 1:1 aspect ratio.

Good exposure, good focus, good technique.

If you have the opportunity to go back again, try experimenting different poses. It looks like you set the camera on self-timer, triggered it, ran to the wheel and squeezed yourself in the wheel just in time for the shot.

Some man and geometry examples:
Vitruvian Man
Atlas (the pose might work inscribed in a circle)

I'll check out the poses Mu Eugene, thanks! Actually I'm not the one in the pic. I took it and my friend is the one in the wheel. 1:1 ratio was the only logical way in my head to crop this. This is the first pic that I feel proud of, hopeful of a lot more. I sent it out to print to see how it comes out 12x12.

One thing that strikes me is the hard shadow cast off his back, I'm wondering if reflector from camera left would have helped to cut the hard shadows and create some definition between his back and the black of the tire. Other wise I really like this photo!
