Yes I'm still using my trusty G2!
Recently changed from Windows 98SE to Vista Home Premium.
Many of the software and utility programs which came with the G2 no longer work properly with Vista.
Does anyone know if there is an update to the the disk I got on purchase :"Canon digital Camera solutions" or to the "software starter guide" which would be compatible with Vista ?
Thanks

Have you checked the Canon download site for software updates? They may have some that would help you. I don't know, but it's worth checking out, if you haven't already done so.

I have read previous threads on this subject over the past couple years and have never seen anything written about success with Vista and G2 software.
I don't believe Canon continues to update software for an old obsolete camera.
Speaking of old obsolete camera, my first digital was a G2. It was an awesome camera and I used it faithfully, without any trouble up until just over 2 years ago when I sold it and bought the G9. Sure to miss that articulating screen!

The Canon site does offer some Vista software for G2 but I haven't checked yet to see if all of the original software is available in Vista version.

You can get the latest version of Zoombrowser for free if you have the original installed.
I like ZB and use it for all my pictures.

I can see where to download ZB. Before installing it do I need to uninstalll my current version ?
I assume no data are lost .
Thanks

No don't uninstall it. It has to be there for the program to see you already own it. Just install over old version.
Data is not lost, however I would back up your pics anyways just to be safe. I have updated several times and never lost a picture. If you kept the default file location it is in Zoombrowser/Image Library One
