well i just formatted the card and now the xt just says error cf and when i stick it in the card reader it says card not found. its a 2 gig 80x and it is the one with that is getting recalled for lost images, so should i send it back in or is there anything i could do.

Send it back. They replaced mine promptly.

Just checking - how did you fomat the card? In the camera or in the card reader? Also, if in the reader, what operating system were you running? You can't format the cards from a Mac so far as I know.

Does the Image Recovery utility pick the card up? If not, try the trial version of PhotoRecovery Expert http://www.datarescue.com/photorescue/download_pc.htm and see if you can attach to the card in either logical or physical mode. Everything's worth trying if it saves sending it back!

i formatted with the image recovery utility on xp. no the image recovery does not pick it up but ill try that link thanks.

I've had that issue with my card as well, it happens when deleting images off the card while in the reader. I just reformat it in the camera and it fixes it. Also using XP.

well the thing is that the camera isnt able to read it either it just says error cf on the lcd.
