If you don't know what I mean check here: http://www.intro2020.co.uk/pages/zigview.htm

I have a loan of one for a few days to try, I have it on charge now, but I was wondering if anyone else has one and what they thought of it and any tips.

I got it to use with copy stand for macros, even with the angle finder you need to be pretty nimble to use the viewfinder and this seems like the ideal solution.

Here in Ireland €190, I think the are £120 sterling and I think I saw $149 for US. I don't know where you are but hope that helps. I will try it on the camera tomorrow and let you know how it works out.

I've heard the build is quite good but the refresh rate is terrible.

so that's a realtime LCD for SLRs? Does it just show exactly what's in the viewfinder, or does it show what the final image would look like (like how a regular non-SLR's lcd works?)

seems like a really interesting idea, and probably even easier than trying to use an angled eyepiece that you still have to stick your face to.

Thanx Pekka, I had not seen that. Well I tried it out briefly this evening and found it useful, but just like that review says, the picture quality could be better. The refresh rate is not as bad as I expected and not a problem for what I wanted it for (macro shots off a copy stand) My subject was well lit and with the zoom facility I was able to focus manually without any problems. It is much more convenient than teh angle finder. The build quality is excellent as is the standard items included, two viewfinder attachments, others are available, a spare set of screws and a decent little screw driver. Oh and also a charger and soft carry case. I will keep this as I think I will get use from it, but again like that review said version II could be a lot sharper. Marks out of ten: 8.

My interest would be the magnification ability when using very long lenses in manual focus. Any thoughts on that?

Gasrocks. It has a zoom facility, two options 50% to 200% and 100% to 200%. I think it would be good for your requirements PROVIDED you have good light and your subject is fairly still.
