Hi. Been researching tripods and have some questions.

First, what's the main difference between the 190 and 055 xprob? (Besides $30)? Is it a height/strength thing?

Anyone have any pictures of the setup being used for shots low to the ground, particularly if taking a landscape shot from a low vantage point?

How does the bubble level being on the tripod itself help if it doesn't move with the mount on the head?

Thanks!
Eric

If you want to shoot a number of shots and stitch them together then you need a level on both the tripod and head-clamp/camera, unless you like a tilted horizon.

If thr camera was connected directly to the tripod then all you would need is a level tripod, although how you would pan would be a mystery.

The 2 tripods are of a different maximum height, with the 190 being shorter/lighter/less load capacity.

Does that mean I still need to buy a level for the camera? Is it better to get one built into the head?

Yes, the 190 has smaller diameter tube sections, making it lighter and with less capacity. Perhaps for this reason they also made it a bit shorter.

I'm thinking about maybe getting the 190 because it would be easier to travel with. I'm not that tall (5'6") and have fairly light gear (At the moment!) Now have to see what head I can swing!

The 190 would be a better "fit" for your height.
