Apparently, it all boils down to who you're sleeping with...

See this article from the Toronto Star (http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/ttc/article/777025--ttc-exec-fired-girlfriend-loses-50-000-contract).

lol, I think many contracts are given out to family and love interest. Didn't read the whole article but Wonder why he got called on it.

Good! Love it!! I've lost out to situations like that. Glad to see somebody get their lunch fed to them for once. The best part is that not only did the photog lose the job, but also lost the already-existing legitimate work being done. Justice... for once! :D

Personally, I like how her website lists 25 years of experience but the article refers to her as an "amateur." :)

You'd be amazed how often I see stuff like that! Know one guy who put he was a pro of 25 years but was just starting to get into it, believe his second year. Apparently taking a photo with a Polaroid as an 8 year makes you professional. In that case I've been a pro for about 23 years!

I see it quite often as well. I just thought it funny that she was not only getting flak over the contracts and how they were awarded but also over her abilities as a photographer. Most people would probably miss that reference. Nothing like being kicked when you're down (merited or otherwise)!

I really hope that he is subjected to criminal prosecution. That guy's not only a corrupt public official, but he's also an adulterer. His butt should rot in prison for what he's done.

Given this recent example (http://www.cbc.ca/politics/story/2010/03/09/jaffer-case.html) of how our justice system treats public officials, I doubt he'll get much more than a slap on the wrist. But that's another story...

Or you know, just be qualified to do the job and get lucky in the selection process...which is what happens, just depends on who they like and whether or not they like what you can do versus someone else for (most often) less cash.

:D another way ! lol
