hey, first day with an slr... kit lens and quantaray "up-close" filters... +4, +2, +1 stacked... all the images are about 25% original size for web, and all but the grass-only pic are cropped for slightely better composition!

i think i like #3 the most...
Things ive learned my first day: manual focus not as easy as one might imagine, very sensitive... and WOW keepin my left eye closed was getting tiring/right eye also gettin tired and started to blur!!!

Very very good for your first time, and if your going to do work like that it will only improve and i look forward to that......
If you don't i have done some work on your blade of grass and bead of water and as you can see your photo is top notch, if you don't have any thing like photoshop or paintshop pro then you'll need to get one or something similar???
Good luck. ;)

Are you refering to the original or the one that i've processed in photoshop, if your refering to the second shot then i used the highlight and shadow option in photoshop carefully to get the right composition.

Manny, yours looks sweet, but in general on macro shots, how did he get the background black? Was this taken @ night?

they were daytime, aperature open as full as possible... so i guess some shading blurred out so much turned dark? i was layin in the (desperately needin to get cut) grass... so there was plenty of shadows

IMHO I think there should be a ban on interfering with other members postings. We surely have no right to download and 'improve' another persons work without their permission. Just my 2cents worth.
