Trying something new

So I'm just sitting around doing nothing and thought about trying something new......I didn't have a big enough piece of glass to do something really big so I figure just try it with something small like batteries...

I was hoping for the base to be a little darker than it is...what do you think? This is my first time ever trying something like this. ( an please ignore the scratches and other foreign crap on the glass, it was fresh out of the garage and i cleaned it as best I could :) )

Nice, do you have an image of your setup?

It would be better IMO if the battery lying down was pretty much right next to the battery standing up.

I didn't take a picture of the setup...what I did was laid some black vinyl (I do signs/decals) on a table and then put a piece of glass on top of it. Then put a light to the right and behind the batteries and another one kind of above and pointing to the left of the batteries.

I need to get some black fabric for portrait shots.. I always try and take a picture of my setup so I can look back and see how it could have been better after I edit the pictures :)
