i want to get a lens adapter for my s70. there are 2, the canon adapter, or the CKC adapter. both are 37mm threads. the canon one is plastic and the CKC is 601 aluminum.

however, the design of the canon one looks more sturdy since it clings onto the rear of the camera instead of just using the tripod screw down hole from the bottom like the CKC one.

the CKC one however has an extra hole on the bottom for mounting to a tripod. and it allows the door to slide just enuff to turn off the camera.

CKC: $50
canon: $30

what would u guys choose?

I have the Canon adapter and it works ok. This CKC looks HUGE. With the Canon adapter you can also turn off the camera by sliding the door.

Could you tell me if the Canon adapter has 37mm threads, and is it suitable for adding filters as the CKC adapter can??

Thanks!

The threaded end lets you add filters or a converter (wide angle or telephoto) lens to the camera. Here's a good source of adapters and info, although they don't make one for every camera in Canon's point/shoot line: http://www.lensmateonline.com/index.html
