View Full Version : Camera Busy

I have a 20D and I always shoot raw, but this holiday weekend required me to shoot hundreds of images. I figured since it was just picnic and party shots I'd pass on all the post processing and shot high quality JPEG's. I also wanted to try out the PTP function which alows you to download JPEG's right to your computer without having to open any software.

The PTP function worked flawlessly on my Dell 4700 running XP, but when I attempted to download my pictures on my Mac running Jaguar 10.2.8 I got nothing. Not even a message that stated the camera wasn't recognized, just nothing at all on my screen. The camera however was flashing the word busy on the LCD screen that displays the aperture and shutter speed.

Has anyone else had this problem? And if so how did you rectify it?

Thanks.

Most people use a card reader instead of hooking the camera directly to the computer. Makes life much easier (and sometimes faster.)

I do use a card reader, but I wanted to try out the PTP function. I'm always curious when something that's supposed to work, doesn't.

Yes, I would be curious too. I hope you get an answer. But, life's too short and I lose enuf sleep as it is. If I have a solution (card reader) and it works - I use that.
