Does anyone recognize this bird?
I saw it yesterday hanging out with the local ducks by a public pond.

That looks like an American Bittern but I'm on the opposite coast from you.

To me this looks like a Green Heron.

A Younger green Heron...
Bittern has virtually the same body shape... and the adolescent Green has much of the browns and such that can get it easily nccfused. This one looks somewhere between adolescent and mature...

Nice shot/. they are hard to get close to usually.. go back and get some more pics :)
