Just wondering which side of the brain you use for your photography.

Both.

At the same time?? :D

Do you really use both eyes for your shots? It has never occurred to me to switch from one to the other.

The dominant (right) eye, unless I find the left eye more convenient or necessary for the shot.

I have a colleague who insists on the ability to compose shots on the LCD screen. He says it's one of the important reasons he hasn't gotten an SLR (he just bought a Powershot G6), although he is more of a casual shooter. The only advantage I see is that he can fold the viewscreen out for shots where there is no room for a head behind the camera. Low-resolution viewfinder over high-quality optics, go figure.

I actually did a search for "which eye" and even just "eye" in topic titles and nothing came up.

I think I am having issues with the search function. I just tried "eye" in the search, and used entire post, all open forums. And search results came back nil.

The message mentions words too small or too common. Maybe that is why.

I used the string, "goofy eye", including the quotes, but I knew what I was looking for.

My left eye is my dominant eye - frankly, I CANT use my right eye. Ive been this way since I shot (bow and rifle) competitively.

Im also left handed, but during baseball I bat right handed (though I throw left handed)

I can only use my left eye and no part of my brain gets involved

I actually use my right eye when shooting telephoto with sports and such - lets me see things "coming" with my left. I then close the left when actually getting a shot. A particular use for this is seeing where a long pass would end up in football or who will hit the ball in volleyball. I usually use my left eye for everything else.
