Which lens is better the Canon EF 70 – 300mm 4.5 – 5.6 DO IS USM or the Canon 70-200 L f/2.8(NO IS)?

Really they are completely different lenses...
The 70-200mm f/2.8 will excel at focus speed,. obviously faster shutter speeds in low light.. better bokeh,. and frankly pure measurebaited image quality.
The Canon 70-200mm are in fact quite probably the best image quality availble in any zoom.
The 70-200mm f/2.8 will work with both the 1.4X and Canon Teleconverters and still offer excellent Image Quality. So a 140-400mm f/5.6 lens is an option.
The DO will offer super compact size and lighter weight,.. much less conspicous also due to color,. Image Stabilization,.. and of course the longer "native" focal range (without a T-con)
The DO will NOT work with either of the Canon T-Cons.. but apperently does very well with a Kenko/Tokin/Tamron 1.4X t-con.. though you should expect some loss of image quality and a loss of aperture.. (allways the case with T-cons)
