Best advice I have for newbies here is that they need to be aware of posts called "stickies" which appear at the top of every seperate forum area. These usually answer 90% of the questions that are commonly posted. As a new member, I'm sure you will have dozens (if not more) questions that are readily answered in these sticky posts. Be sure to avail yourself of these areas of pre-posted advice and answers . . .

If you don't, you'll start thinking the eq you have is not good enough, your lenses not fast enough, they don't have good IQ, that you don't have enough of it (eq) and you MUST have this or that accessory. You'll start questioning your lenses focus accuracy, whether you body (camera, that is) is performing up to specs. And keep asking yourself "why can't I take pictures like that. There must be something wrong with what I have." (Readers on this forum rarely question their own ability).

Not sure if this is tongue in cheek but if you're being serious your post is certainly inaccurate. A small proportion of members here equate dollars with ability, but the general population are a realistic bunch who are friendly and helpful, and give great advice and honest feedback.

OP...you say that you're a "newbie here", suggesting you're new to POTN but not necessarily photography...?

What's your background? What do you like to shoot?
