hi,
Just browsing the web, I came across this plugin for cleaning out shadows. Looking at the samples, it seems to work well.

It does look interesting. $40. seems like a lot for a plug-in. I have emailed them with a ? perhaps I'll get it. You know, there are a lot of plug-ins out there, and even free ones that do a good job.

I got a reply to my inquiry. "...you may find lighting adjustment tools built in these products (photoshop) may be sufficient for your needs...." In other words, maybe you can do what this plug-in does without it.

RSE has that capability, too. & it's free!

hmmmm, I have not tried RSE since I do not shoot in RAW (I Know, I know). I simply can't justify spending 5 minutes processing each image when I may take 100+ images a day of the kids etc.
About the plugin, I saw the results and they looked interesting. I agree that its probably possible to do it in PS yourself but lots of times plugin just make it easy to make these changes. :-)

I simply can't justify spending 5 minutes processing each image when I may take 100+ images a day of the kids etc. It should take less than 1 min each to process the ones worth printing. The more you use RSE, the faster it is. ;-)
